Potassium Sorbate is a synthetic preservative. It is a white, salt-like material. The chemical formula is C6H7KO2. It is used as a preservative in food products, most commonly found in cheese, breads, frozen foods, and baked goods.

 

Dimethyl dicarbonate can be used as a replacement in wine production.
